Roux MacNeill interior design studio in downtown Raleigh
A bright and friendly welcome in Roux MacNeill Studio's Downtown Raleigh office. Making a statement is our Case Study Ceramic Plant Stand and Folded Vessel (magazine holder) by Good Thing.

We're mixing things up and paying a visit to a creative workspace! Meet Roux MacNeill Studio: a fresh and energetic interior design studio based in Downtown Raleigh.

I remember the day that Brittany (Roux) came in to the store and shared the news of launching her own business with Rob (MacNeill) - the excitement was infectious. They've have truly brought their vision to life within these walls and I'm so excited to share it with you. Let's head on in ...

How long have you been in your studio and why did you choose to open it here?

Last summer we opened our studio in the Raleigh Building on Hargett St. We couldn’t say no to the original brass elevators and historic charm. So far, we are loving the vibrant energy that DTR has to offer.

Inspirations displayed just so with Washi Tape. Also on Rob's desk: a reusable coffee and tea cup by KeepCup, American Walnut Catch Tray by Craighill, and Wilson Keyring also by Craighill.
On Brittany's desk, a Golden Tray by HAY helps corral everyday things and a small Ito Bindery Drawing Pad is on hand for inspired notes and drawings.

How do you approach designing your workspace?

At 400 square feet, we had to make every part of the studio feel special for our clients. White marble, white desks, and white storage cabinets create a neutral backdrop for our designs. We wanted our space to convey our brand: Honesty of materials, a commitment to quality, and creating a feeling of home.

What object/piece do you enjoy using most on a daily basis?

Our long Carrera marble table is the perfect place for ideation, client presentations, & lunch! We were inspired by tables at the Jane Hotel (a favorite!) in NYC.

Fill in the blank and share why: “We always have/keep ___ in our office”

Fresh flowers - we adore Wylde!

Candles - the Recharge scent from Woodlot is divine.

Beverages for our clients - always paired with a Graf Lantz felt coaster

A custom table for all occasions, just like our versatile Willmann Concrete Vase by Menu. Gold business card holder by Souda.
Studio Manger, Katerina Pugh steps up with a Lucano Step Ladder and sorts samples with the help of two black ReBins.

What’s one thing we might be surprised to know about your workspace?

Our lobby is about to experience a Roux MacNeill Studio transformation inspired by the building’s Art Deco heritage. We can’t wait to create the dramatic entrance that our building deserves-brass elevators and all!

Thank you, Roux MacNeill Studio for sharing your workspace with us!
